About the Role
Clutch is expanding its design team! We're looking for a Product Designer (Design Systems) to help us evolve our design foundation and bring consistency, quality, and speed to every customer experience we deliver.
This designer will spend the majority of their time (around two-thirds) advancing our design system—building, documenting, and maintaining the core patterns and components that power Clutch’s product ecosystem. The rest of the time, they’ll collaborate with product teams to apply and extend those systems across real user-facing initiatives.
We’re seeking someone who’s excited by the intersection of craft, systems thinking, and collaboration—a designer who cares deeply about quality, clarity, and scalability, and loves empowering others to do their best work.
About the Team
At Clutch, design isn't just a department—it's the driving force behind our mission. We believe a seamless user experience can empower credit unions to compete and offer superior banking to everyday people. By crafting intuitive experiences, we help credit unions guide their members toward financial freedom.
Our growing design team is fully remote in the U.S. and Brazil. It is diverse, collaborative, ambitious, and empowered to take on our company’s biggest challenges.

Shape the Design System: Take ownership of key system areas—improving component quality, interaction patterns, tokens, and accessibility.
Enhance Design–Dev Collaboration: Partner closely with engineers to ensure parity and consistency between Figma and code.
Support Product Teams: Collaborate with other designers on product initiatives, ensuring system alignment and evolving the system as new patterns emerge.
Improve Documentation & Governance: Strengthen system documentation and contribute to contribution and review processes.
Within 9 months, you will:
Drive System Adoption: Help scale the system across teams—evangelizing usage, improving contribution models, and providing guidance to designers and engineers.
Influence Product Quality: Champion cohesive user experiences through systems thinking and shared patterns.
Contribute to Design Culture: Propose improvements to design workflows, accessibility standards, or tooling that elevate the team’s craft and efficiency.
What You’ll Bring
Experience: 3–5 years of experience as a product designer, including at least one major project owning, contributing to, or maintaining a design system.
Craft & Systems Thinking: Strong skills in visual design, interaction design, and component architecture, with a deep appreciation for reusability, clarity, and scale.
Tooling: Advanced proficiency with Figma (components, variants, tokens, documentation, libraries).
Collaboration: Experience working cross-functionally with engineers and designers to align system and implementation.
Communication: Clear visual and written communication—able to explain rationale, document patterns, and advocate for design quality.
Growth Mindset: A desire to learn, adapt, and grow within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
