About the DevOps / Infrastructure Team

We are small and nimble, but mighty and now growing our team of DevOps generalists who each bring unique experience & skillsets. We are a collaborative and open to new ideas and approaches that will help us level up as a department - do you want to contribute and help us build?

We are tasked with building and maintaining the cloud platform the Coalesce application runs on. We work to ensure that the platform is scalable, resilient, auditable and reproducible- and we do this by embracing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and automation, constantly refining and improving to further our team’s goals and add value to the business. As a department we’re responsible not only for cloud infrastructure, but also CI/CD used to test and deploy our application, and security compliance + audit in partnership with our Security Team.

Our Stack

The App

  • Coalesce is built on TypeScript and React, and runs on Node.js with some Go and Python in different spots. Postgres, Redis, and Firebase for storage.

The Infra

  • Managed Kubernetes across AWS, Azure, GCP (20+ deployments)

  • Kubernetes resources are managed via Kustomize, deployed using ArgoCD

  • Cloud infrastructure is deployed and managed using Terraform

  • GitHub for source control + GitHub Actions for CI/CD

  • DataDog, PagerDuty, Tailscale, Slack, Airbyte, Lucid, Zoom and of course Snowflake, Databricks & Fabric

What You’ll Do

We’re looking to add a DevOps generalist to the team. You should have solid experience with standard DevOps toolsets including a lot of what is mentioned above. You will be actively working to help us architect, design and implement the infrastructure that powers the Coalesce application, empowering our software engineers, and helping to test and deploy our software to Kubernetes clusters in regions across the globe in all three major clouds.

  • Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure across all three clouds using Terraform IaC

  • Architect, build and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines in Github Actions and ArgoCD

  • Build and maintain tests to provide observability and alerting coverage across our infrastructure

  • Contribute to decisions around our departmental roadmap and project priorities

  • Analyze and architect a unified platform to support additional acquired tech stacks.

What you Bring
  • Minimum 5+ years (prefer more) of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering, cloud infrastructure engineering or similar roles with a strong emphasis on cloud infrastructure, automation and security.

  • Strong background with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform across one or more major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, and Azure)

  • Deeply proficient in Kubernetes, Linux, and associated toolsets

  • Solid expertise with building, scaling, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions / Gitlab)

  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Go, or Bash, around automation and custom security tooling.

  • Understanding of cloud provider offerings, toolsets and architecture best practices including redundancy, security.

  • Strong experience with Linux operating systems and their deployment and scaling concerns.

  • Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols, especially as it relates to networking in the clouds.

  • Experience adhering to security frameworks (SOC2) and working with security teams to triage vulnerabilities or other findings.

  • Bonus Points
    • Previous Experience as a Data Engineer, working with ETL pipelines, Data Warehouses

    • CISM, CISSP, or other security certifications

    • AWS, Azure, or GCP Associate or Professional Level Certifications (Architect, Developer, Security, etc)

    • Kubernetes certifications including CKA, CKS, KCNA, KCSA, CKAD
