We’re looking for a Brand Strategist to help shape our all-in-one privacy solution and join our mission to show the world that protecting your privacy online can be simple.


The Opportunity


In this role, you will work across the marketing, product, content, engineering and design teams to ensure every experience a user has with our brand is consistent and feels like DuckDuckGo. You'll help us understand what makes our tens of millions of users different by providing in-depth insights about our different user segments, their needs, motivations and how should we translate this into our marketing and product strategy.


You'll also help us evolve our brand and oversee our brand governance framework, including internal and external brand guidelines, voice and tone guidelines, trademark/logo management, etc. While we encourage everyone at DuckDuckGo to be a steward of the brand, you'll be a go to resource to help make sure it's being executed on consistently.


What You Will Bring to DuckDuckGo

  • 5+ years experience in brand positioning and strategy work. This role is not in charge of ad creative development or ad buying strategy though contributes to those projects.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate on high-impact and complex projects from proposal through post-mortem.
  • Skills to wrangle vague problems, propose innovative solutions, and execute them with a strong focus on metrics.
  • Strong attention to detail. You catch the small things others miss when it comes to consistency with our brand system.
  • You’re a natural leader who can rally teams of all kinds, and influence and work with a wide range of stakeholders, including our senior executives, partners, marketing, HR, and engineering teams (and beyond!)
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in leveraging qualitative and quantitative data and various research platforms to make positioning decisions. You measure, track, and optimize tactical performance.

Compensation

Annual compensation: $170,000 USD and stock options. Compensation is the same within a professional level, regardless of geographic location or functional area, and the compensation for each professional level is transparent across the organization.

  • Sometimes we meet up! Expect to travel at least two times a year: once for our all-hands meetup and again for a team retreat (each around 4-5 days). While extenuating circumstances may impact attendance, everyone is strongly encouraged to attend.
  • While we offer a flexible work arrangement with no core hours, expect an average full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.
