SafetyWing (YC W18) is seeking a Chief Financial Officer with a firm grasp of how to run an excellent financial organization and later-stage fundraising.
We are building a global social safety net, including health and retirement for remote workers worldwide, as a replacement for national welfare systems. If we succeed, we believe this will help ensure freedom and equal opportunity for everyone, and it is one of the more important tasks of our time that no one else is working on.
As CFO, you will have a central role in the company. We are looking for someone who will help us to mature our finance organization, improve our decision-making by better use of metrics, and put us in an excellent position for a potential public listing in a couple of years.
? Your responsibilities will include
- Take full responsibility for the finance organization and team, including FP&A, financial reporting, transfer pricing, risk/compliance and operational HR.
- Provide the board, the executive team and the rest of the organization with high-quality and decision-relevant information
- Play a key role in fundraising, being the owner of all financial information and metrics
- Create and own a roadmap for fundraising, including timelines and vision taking us from the status quo to an IPO or similar
? We are looking for someone who
- Has experience maturing and running an excellent financial organization
- Worked on later-stage fundraising, ideally having run or been centrally involved in a public listing process
- Has an excellent intuitive understanding of numbers and a remarkable ability to use metrics to inform strategic and operational decisions. Also, the ability and disposition to always be in the know concerning our metrics and KPIs.
- Is being a proven leader with experience from an executive position or a position directly below that involving great responsibility and initiative
- Has experience working with an international group is preferable. Experience working in a regulated industry would be a great advantage.
