As a fully remote, global company, we’re rewriting the rules of modern business. Named GP Bullhound’s 2024 Top 100 Next Unicorn list, certified as a Great Place to Work, and recognized by Flexa for true flexibility, we’re growing fast and looking for top talent to join our team. If you’re excited to do meaningful work and make real impact, keep reading, this role could be the one you’ve been waiting for.

About the Role:

As a Senior AP Accountant at Camunda, you will own and strengthen our Accounts Payable operations and key parts of our Travel and Expense process. You’ll join a supportive, distributed Finance team that values focus, integrity, ambition, talent, and a healthy dose of humor. You will partner with stakeholders across the business to ensure timely approvals, audit-ready documentation, policy-compliant resolution of issues, and a great experience for vendors and internal stakeholders from request through payment. You will improve data quality and help keep our end-to-end P2P process scalable in a remote-first environment.

What you'll be doing:

  •  Own and execute end-to-end AP operations across entities, from invoice intake through coding, matching, issue resolution, payment runs, and reconciliations.

  • Co-own Travel and Expense operations (Brex corporate card and reimbursements) with the AP team, including compliance enforcement (receipts, out-of-policy spend), exception handling, user enablement, and month-end close readiness.

  • Maintain vendor master data hygiene and support vendor onboarding and vendor record updates, including independent verification of sensitive changes like banking details.

  • Drive Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process improvements, helping to design, document, and refine workflows that reduce friction, improve data quality, and support scalable growth.

  • Prepare and review AP-related month-end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, aging analysis, and supporting schedules, in close collaboration with the broader Accounting team.

  • Improve and document processes and controls in Zip and Brex, create clear guidance for stakeholders, and support audit requests with complete evidence.

What you bring:

  • Ability and/or willingness to use our product.

  • 5+ years hands-on AP experience, including ownership of invoice processing, vendor management, and payment runs in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven ownership of AP month-end activities (reconciliations, accrual support, cut-off, aging management) in an IFRS reporting environment.

  • Strong understanding of P2P processes and internal controls, with the ability to identify gaps, propose practical improvements, and implement changes.

  • Strong working knowledge of a modern, cloud-based ERP system (e.g., NetSuite or similar) and experience with expense management and/or P2P workflow tools.

  • Practical experience running or co-running a corporate card and reimbursements process (Brex or similar), including policy enforcement, receipt compliance, and exception handling.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed, multicultural team and build trusted relationships with stakeholders and vendors.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in a SaaS or high-growth tech company with multiple legal entities and international operations.

  • Exposure to process automation and system rollouts in Finance (e.g., new AP/P2P tools, integrations, or workflow redesign).

  • Experience working in a remote-first environment, comfortable with async communication and documenting processes clearly.
